Format error "Windows cannot format this Drive..."- Solution

Are you getting "Windows can't format this drive, Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using this drive and try agian formating" error when you try to format your drive? This error will come even if you does not open or use any progarms or files on that drive.

Reson for this error maybe any programs reading or writing data's in that drive or Maybe a virus programs can make this error.

If you sure format that drive you can do it by force formating. first make sure there is formating only gives solution for you? If yes open Run via start menu and type diskmgmt.msc on run dialog then hit enter, Now Diskmanagment untitlity will open. This app shows a detailed information of your harddrives on your computer.

Now Rightclick on the drive that you want to format, and select format..., It wll ask for volume dats such as label, filesystem, alocation size fill it. and hit enter now confirmation click ok. Now wait a moment untill it will ask you

"The volume roxer(X) logical drive currently in use. To force format of this volume click yes "

Click yes and wait few second untill the busy cursor of Mouse hide, After it's hide your drive formated and clean. Go to my computer and check it.

You can do more with this inbuilt application on windows XP no need for other third party's application, Just give a look on the application (be carefull you may be delete your drive or other serious problems can cause)

How to enable PPP and VPN Logging in Windows ?

Create a file called PPP.LOG in the% SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\RAS to help diagnose connectivity problems between a PPP server and client PPP when a computer is a client of Remote Access Service Windows NT.

Open your registry database and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value or modify the existing value called 'Logging' using the settings below.

Quit the registry and restart or log out of Windows for the session so that the changes take effect.

Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

System Key: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP

Name: Logging

Type: REG_DWORD

Value: 1 standard logging

Value: 2 verbose logging

PPP logging is good but if you need more details use VPN logging.This may be useful if you are troubleshooting a problem with your VPN connection.

The log file is located in /var/log/ppp.log

To monitor this log when you engage a vpn connection open your terminal and use the command

tail -f /var/log/ppp.log

Restart Windows Via Remote Desktop

Are you a Remote Desktop Protocol user?did you ever notice that the Start, Shutdown options aren't there?. Instead you may notice an option to "disconnect," in effect saving your session for the next time you login, or log off option

So what do you do if you actually want to restart the remote machine?

so here is my tip To shut down a remote computer when you are using Remote Desktop, press CTRL+ALT+END, and then click Shutdown. Or, use the shutdown command at a command prompt and then choose the Restart option you're used to seeing on a local Windows session.

Since Ctrl+Alt+End some times fail...!
at this instance you may do this
Click “Start”
Click “Run”
Type “shutdown /i” and click Open
Use 127.0.0.1 as the Computer and select restart.

Works on XP also.

How to Get a Admin privileges For Any Account

Here is a Way to Get AdminPrivileges to Non Admin Accounts

We can do it by runing a small commend on cmd!

Copy this codes to Notepad:

Replace "*****" with your NonAdmin Account name

Save it as "Admin.bat" or "Guest2Admin.bat" whatever you like but .bat file.

Double click on the file or execute or run in cmd.

Thats all Now you have a full adminprivileges.
